Artist Profile

Working in oil on canvas, my inspiration is primarily from the Peak District and surrounding areas. My work is a combination of contemporary impressionism and minimalistic fluidity but always consists of traditional subject matter. This creates familiar scenes that are easy on the eye but with a modern edge.

As art has always been a passion of mine, it has proved to become a continuous development and I am constantly striving for new and  interesting ways to add to my signature style.

Painting is something I must do, and it is a major part of my life.  I have been painting and drawing for as long as I can remember but after I finished my degree and started my career as a Surveyor I soon realised that painting would be limited to the weekends. After careful consideration I decided to put surveying on hold and concentrate on my dream profession as an artist. Since then I have exhibited at many art exhibitions, and my work can be seen in various galleries, restaurants and other outlets around Derbyshire. I now work from my studio in Fulwood and have the picturesque scenery to constantly inspire new work.
